This post is purely to understand how I would market my product, and how this could potentially shape my idea and the development of my project.
Potential distribution companies
-
Small English TV production studios
- CPL Productions - although more based around panel shows on TV, both are series based, and so I plan to study the links between each episode in order to further my understanding of how series work and plots develop.
4OD (exclusive to online) -
- Due to their other similar releases such as Green Wing, which is a series topical comedy show set in a hospital, and can be found online in the archive section, this proves Channel 4's online community to be popular in order to store shows from 10 years ago. Similarly the BBC have a number of short series, spin-offs from popular English TV shows such as 'Sherlock' and 'Dr Who'.
The term 'webisodes' stands for episodes of which have been released on the web, normally as a side or spin-off to the main tv show.

Print/Online Marketing
- mock up of poster using stills/footage stills
- online advert distributed through YouTube/social media channels
- popularity of target audience 18-30 are high users of social media.
- analysis of colours related to theme and genre
- conventions of posters theme and genre - analysis
Looking into film companies, I would definitely use a niche, independent cinema type company to back my film as it is an independent type film, filmed in a specific style for a variety of audiences, similar to Legend.
